Taiwan: Industrial output records slowest expansion since February in October
November 23, 2021
Industrial output increased 11.2% compared to the same month of the previous year in October, which was a deterioration from September's 11.6% increase. The outturn marked the worst reading since February. The reading largely reflected weaker manufacturing output growth. In addition, water supply production contracted at a steeper rate.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, factory output rose at a more moderate pace of 0.2% in October (September: +1.8% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at plus 12.9%, up from September's 12.5% reading.
