Switzerland: Inflation stable in June

July 4, 2019

Consumer prices were stable over the prior month in June, down from May’s 0.3% rise. Higher prices for recreation and culture were offset by falling clothing and footwear, and transport costs.

Inflation was stable at May’s 0.6% in June, while annual average inflation ticked down to 0.8% in June from 0.9% in May.

Against this backdrop, panelists polled by FocusEconomics expect inflation to remain relatively anemic over the medium-term and see inflation averaging 0.6% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast, and averaging 0.8% in 2020.
