Sweden: Industrial production growth slows in June
August 6, 2018
Total industrial production, excluding energy, increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.2% in June over the previous month, down from May’s revised 3.8% expansion (previously reported: 1.8% month-on-month), according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). June’s figure was weighed down by a contraction in the mining and quarrying sector but supported by modest growth in the manufacturing industry.
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production grew 5.4% in June, down from May’s revised 5.9% rise (previously reported: 3.7% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production, meanwhile, slowed from 5.3% in May to 5.1% in June.
