Sweden: Industrial production accelerates in December
February 10, 2012
In December, industrial production rose a working-day adjusted 2.0% over the same month the year before, which was well above the 0.6% increase recorded in November. According to Statistics Sweden (SCB), the reading mainly reflected an improvement in the electronics as well as in the electrical equipment industries. On a monthly basis, industrial production remained unchanged in seasonally and working-day adjusted terms, which contrasted the 1.8% decline observed in November. In the full year 2011, industrial production increased 8.5%, which was only slightly below the 8.8% expansion seen in 2010.
