Sweden: Industrial output bounces back in October

December 7, 2021

Industrial production increased 1.8% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in October, contrasting the 0.2% drop recorded in September. The notable rebound largely reflected a pickup in manufacturing and mining output.

On an annual basis, industrial output rose at a faster rate of 3.7% in October (September: +1.8% yoy). Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 7.5% in October (September: +7.2%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial production will increase 3.4% in 2022, which is down 0.6 percentage points from last month’s forecast, and rise 2.3% in 2023.
