Spain: Retail sales lose steam in December
January 28, 2016
In December, retail sales rose 3.2% over the same month of the previous year, which was below November’s 4.2% increase. The result came on the back of slower growth in personal and household equipment. On a seasonal- and calendar-adjusted basis, retail sales in December expanded 2.3% over the same month of the previous year, which was below November’s 3.3% rise and marked a six-month low.
Meanwhile, the trend continued to point downward as annual average growth in retail sales decreased from the 3.8% tallied in November to 3.6% in December.
