Spain: Retail sales decelerate in March

April 28, 2016

In March, retail sales rose 4.3% over the same month last year, which was below February’s 7.4% increase. The result came mainly on the back of increasing sales in services. Meanwhile, the annual average growth in retail sales was stable at February’s 3.8%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption expanding 3.0% in 2016, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel sees private consumption growth at 2.4%.
