May 8, 2015

In March, industrial production rose 2.9% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, which was above the revised 0.9% increase tallied in February (previously reported: +0.6% year-on-year). The print mainly reflected a rise in the production of consumer and intermediate goods, while production of capital goods decelerated compared to the previous month

Annual average variation of industrial production rose from February’s 1.0% to 1.2% in March.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production expanding 2.2% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel sees industrial output growth at 2.6%.
