Spain: Industrial production loses steam in April

June 5, 2015

In April, industrial production rose 1.8% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, which was below the revised 3.2% increase tallied in March (previously reported: +2.9% year-on-year). The print mainly reflected a moderation in the production of consumer and intermediate goods, while production of capital goods accelerated compared to the previous month

Annual average variation of industrial production fell from March’s 1.3% to 1.1% in April.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production expanding 2.0% in 2015, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel sees industrial output growth at 3.1%.
