Spain: Industrial production increases again in July

September 10, 2014

In July, industrial production rose a working-day adjusted 0.8% over the same month last year. July’s print represented only a slight acceleration compared to the revised 0.7% increase recorded in June (previously reported: +0.8% year-on-year), but it did represent the ninth consecutive month of expansion in industrial output. The print mainly reflected stronger growth in consumer goods and intermediate products.

Annual average variation of industrial production rose from 1.1% in June to 1.3% in July, marking the highest level since February 2011.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production expanding 1.8% in 2014, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2015, the panel sees industrial output growth at 2.4%.
