Spain: Growth in industrial production accelerates slightly in September

November 7, 2014

In September, industrial production expanded a working-day adjusted 1.0% over the same month last year, which was above August’s revised 0.3% increase (previously reported: +0.6% year-on-year). The print, which represented the 11th consecutive monthly expansion, mainly reflected a rebound in capital goods and consumer products.

Annual average variation of industrial production stabilized at the previous month’s 1.5% in September, thereby remaining at the highest level since January 2008.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production expanding 1.7% in 2014, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2015, the panel sees industrial output growth at 2.3%, which is also unchanged over the previous month’s estimate.
