Slovenia: Inflation stays constant in November

Consumer prices edged up 0.1% in November from the previous month, which was below the 0.5% rise in October. The increase mainly reflected higher prices for clothing and fuel.

Inflation was 0.6% in November, matching the figure seen in October. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation was 0.7% in November, following an identical reading in October. The annual average variation in harmonized prices increased from minus 0.4% in October to minus 0.3% in November, the highest figure in 18 months.

The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) expects harmonized consumer prices to fall 0.5% in 2016 and to increase 1.1% in 2017. FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants expect harmonized consumer prices to fall 0.5% in 2016, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects HICP inflation to be 1.2%, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate.
