Slovenia: Inflation slows at the outset of the year
February 7, 2013
In January, consumer prices dropped 0.8% over the previous month, which was below the 0.3% fall tallied in December. The monthly drop was driven by lower in prices for clothing and footwear as well as for recreation and culture.
Building on the monthly decrease, annual headline inflation moderated from 2.7% in December to 2.4% in January. Meanwhile, annual HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) slowed from 3.1% in December to 2.8% in January, driving annual average HICP inflation to 2.9% (December: 2.8%).
