Slovenia: Inflation drops in October
October 30, 2012
In October, consumer prices added 0.1% over the previous month, which came in only as a fraction of the 1.1% increase observed in September. According to the statistical office, the subdued print mainly reflected how prices for recreation and culture offset higher prices for clothing and footwear. As a result of the soft monthly increase, annual headline inflation declined from 3.3% in September to 2.7% in October, which halted the upward trend in place since July. Annual HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) followed suit and fell from 3.7% in September to 3.2% in October, driving annual average HICP inflation to 2.7%.
