Slovenia: Inflation continues to ease
June 29, 2012
In June, consumer prices fell 0.6% over the previous month, which contrasted a rise of the same magnitude in May. According to the statistical office, the monthly decline was mainly driven by lower prices for clothing and footwear as well as for food and non-alcoholic beverages. As a result of the monthly price fall, annual headline inflation inched down from 2.4% in May to 2.3% in June. Meanwhile, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) inched up from May's 2.2% to 2.3%.
