Slovenia: Industrial production falls in May
July 10, 2012
In May, industrial production fell a calendar adjusted 3.6% over the same month last year, following the strong 3.5% rise observed in April. According to the statistical office, industrial output deteriorated due to sharp losses in manufacturing production as well as in the mining and quarrying category. Seasonally adjusted data corroborates the deterioration suggested by the annual figures, as industrial production dropped 3.2% over the previous month, contrasting the mild 0.1% increase seen in April. Meanwhile, the trend continues to point downwards, with annual average growth in industrial production falling from 0.7% in April to a flat reading in May.
