Slovenia: Industrial production accelerates further in June

In June, industrial production expanded 4.3% over the same month last year, which followed the 3.7% increase recorded in May. According to the statistical office, June’s acceleration mainly reflected stronger growth in manufacturing output. Conversely, growth in electricity, gas and water supply, as well as in mining and quarrying moderated in June.

On a monthly basis, industrial output expanded a seasonally-adjusted 1.3% in June, which contrasted the 0.2% decrease recorded in the previous month. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production rose from 0.5% in May to 1.1% in June, which represented the highest level since February 2012.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 2.0% this year, which is up 0.3 percentage points over last month’s Consensus. For 2015, the panel sees industrial output growth accelerating to 2.4%.
