Slovenia: Growth in industrial production moderates in December

Industrial production in December grew 6.6% from the same month of the previous year, easing from November’s strong 7.4% growth. According to the Statistical Institute, the expansion was broad-based as all three components that make up the index increased in December, with manufacturing recording the largest gains.

On a monthly basis, industrial output edged up a seasonally-adjusted 1.3% in December, which followed the 1.0% increase recorded in November. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production in December was stable at November’s 6.0% reading.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 4.0% in 2017, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2018, the panel also sees industrial output expanding 4.9%.
