Slovenia: Growth in industrial production improves in October

In October, industrial production expanded 3.9% over the same month last year. The print followed the 3.3% increase recorded in September (previously reported: +3.4% year-on-year) and represented the strongest gain in three months. According to the statistical office, October’s reading reflected a sizeable acceleration in manufacturing output. Conversely, output of electricity, gas and water supply and the mining and quarrying sector experienced an outright contraction in October.

On a monthly basis, industrial output expanded a seasonally-adjusted 2.4% in October, which contrasted the 0.6% drop recorded in the previous month. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production rose from 3.1% in September to 3.5% in October.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 2.4% this year, which is unchanged over last month’s Consensus. For 2015, the panel sees industrial output growth stable at 2.4%, which is also unchanged from last month’s estimate.
