Slovenia: Growth in industrial output softens in May

Industrial production in May expanded 5.0% over the same month last year. The reading marked a deceleration from the revised 5.5% expansion tallied in April (previously reported: +5.3% year-on-year). According to the Statistical Institute, May’s print reflected a robust increase in manufacturing output, which more than offset a drop in both mining production and electricity, gas and steam supply.
On a monthly basis, industrial output rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.6% in May, which came in above the 0.5% increase recorded in the previous month. Lastly, annual average growth in industrial production was 4.9%, slightly below April’s revised 5.1% increase (previously reported: +5.3%).
