Slovenia: Growth in industrial output accelerates to seven-month high in September

In September, industrial production expanded by 6.2% over the same month last year. The print marked an acceleration from the 5.2% increase tallied in August and the strongest growth in seven months. According to the statistical office, September’s reading reflected solid growth in the manufacturing sector. In contrast, the electricity, gas and water supply sector and mining industry tallied contractions.

On a monthly basis, industrial output increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.5% in September, which contrasted the 0.2% decrease recorded in the previous month. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production increased from 3.9% in August to 4.4% in September.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 4.2% in 2015, which is up 0.6 percentage points over last month’s Consensus. For 2016, the panel sees industrial output growth at 3.6%, which is up 0.3 percentage points from last month’s forecast.
