Slovenia: Growth in industrial output accelerates in April

In April, industrial production expanded by 4.2% over the same month last year. The print marked a slight acceleration from the 4.0% increase tallied in March. According to the statistical office, April’s reading reflected a strong increase in manufacturing, which more than offset contractions in mining and quarrying as well as electricity, gas and water supply.

On a monthly basis, industrial output recorded seasonally-adjusted flat growth in April, which was below the 0.6% increase recorded in the previous month.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 2.6% in 2015, which is down 0.3 percentage points over last month’s Consensus. For 2016, the panel sees industrial output growth at 2.8%.
