Slovakia: Inflation picks up in October
Consumer prices ticked up 0.10% over the previous month in October, after flatlining in September. October’s rise was largely attributed to a rebound in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and recreation and culture. Moreover, prices for transport dropped at a softer pace than in September.
Inflation came in at 1.6% in October, up from September’s 1.4%, and rising for the first time since March. Meanwhile, annual average inflation dropped to 2.2% (September: 2.3%). Lastly, harmonized inflation came in at 1.6% in October, following September’s 1.4%.
