Slovakia: Industrial production slows in June
August 10, 2016
Industrial production rose 2.2% annually in June, which followed the revised 5.8% expansion tallied in May (previously reported: +5.9% year-on-year). According to the Statistical Institute, June’s deceleration reflected slower growth in manufacturing output as well as a steeper decline in mining and quarrying.
On a monthly basis, industrial production inched down 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in June. The print followed the 1.0% contraction tallied in May. Due to slower results registered in May and June, annual average growth in industrial production declined from 5.0% in May to 4.6%.
