Slovakia: Industrial production growth falls in September
November 10, 2014
Industrial production grew 1.2% in September over the same month last year, which came in below the 2.7% expansion tallied in August and represented the slowest increase since March 2013. According to the statistical office, September’s slowdown was mainly the result of a deterioration in electricity, gas and air-conditioning supply, which compensated for increases in mining and quarrying, as well as in manufacturing output.
On a monthly basis, industrial production contracted 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in September, which contrasted the 0.3% expansion tallied in August. The upward trend in industrial output continued to moderate in September, with annual average growth edging down from 6.7% in August to 6.3% in September.
