Slovakia: Industrial production continues to slow further in February
April 8, 2011
In February, industrial output expanded 10.8% over the same month last year, decelerating over the 17.3% increase observed in January (previously reported: +17.1% year-on-year). The expansion was mostly driven by continued strength within the manufacturing sector, bolstered by a rise in the production of transport equipment. On a month-on-month basis, industrial production declined a seasonally adjusted 1.3% over the previous month, contrasting the 0.9% increase registered in January. Simultaneously, the trend deteriorated significantly in February, with annual average growth falling to 17.9% from 18.7% recorded in January.
