Slovakia: Industrial output drops in December
February 9, 2018
Industrial production declined 1.1% year-on-year in December, strongly contrasting November’s 6.2% growth. The decline was mainly due to a contraction in manufacture of transport equipment; computer, electronic and optical products; electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply; and mining and quarrying. These drops were partially offset by an increase in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products.
After seasonal adjustment, industrial production fell 2.6% in month-on-month terms contrasting November’s 1.0% increase.
As a result of December’s contraction, annual average growth in industrial output dropped from 4.7% in November to 4.2% in December.
