Serbia: Industrial production improves slightly in September

October 31, 2016

In September, industrial production expanded 5.3% from the same month of last year, coming in above the 5.1% increase seen in August. The figure reflected an acceleration in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, while growth in mining and quarrying and manufacturing decelerated.

Finally, annual average growth in industrial production decreased from 7.4% in August to 6.4% in September, the lowest reading since October 2015.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 5.2% in 2016, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month’s estimate. In 2017, the panel also sees industrial production growth at 5.2%, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate.
