Serbia: Industrial production deteriorates in November

January 9, 2017

In November, industrial production in Serbia expanded 1.3% from the same month of the previous year, coming in below the 3.2% increase seen in October. The figure mainly reflected a deceleration in the mining and quarrying sector, while growth in the manufacturing sector improved.

On a monthly basis, industrial production contracted 1.3% in seasonally adjusted terms, following October’s 0.4% decrease. The figure was the lowest in six months. Finally, annual average growth in industrial production decreased from 6.3% in October to 5.4% in November.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 5.2% in 2017, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month’s estimate. In 2018, the panel also sees industrial production growth at 5.2%.
