Serbia: Economic growth slows in Q1

According to a flash estimate released on 4 May by the Statistical Office, GDP grew 1.0% in Q1 over the same quarter of last year. The figure marked a significant deceleration from the 2.5% increase recorded in Q4 2016.

More complete data will be released on 31 May.

The National Bank of Serbia expects the economy to expand 3.0% in 2017. FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect the economy to record 2.8% growth in 2017, which is unchanged from the previous month’s projection. For 2018, the panel sees GDP increasing 3.1%.
