Romania: Inflation eases in November
December 11, 2014
In November, consumer prices fell 0.19% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.19% increase observed in October. According to the National Institute of Statistics (INSSE), November’s result reflected lower prices for food and non-food goods, which were partly offset by higher prices for services.
Annual headline inflation inched down from 1.4% in October to 1.3% in November. The figure was below the 1.6% the markets had expected. Inflation remains below the lower boundary of Central Bank’s tolerance margin of plus/minus 1.0% around its target of 2.5%. Annual average inflation inched down from 1.2% in October to 1.1% in November, which marked the lowest rate on record.
