Romania: Inflation accelerates in April

Consumer prices rose 0.3% from the previous month in April, up from March’s 0.2% increase. April’s result reflected higher prices for all three main categories, namely services, food and non-food items.
Inflation rose to 0.6% in April, up from 0.2% in March. Nonetheless, inflation remains well below the Central Bank’s target band of 1.5%-3.5%. The annual average variation in consumer prices edged up to minus 0.5% in April, from minus 0.9% in March.
