Romania: Drop in consumer prices softens in December
January 13, 2017
Consumer prices inched up 0.2% in December from the previous month, up from November’s 0.1% rise. December’s figure reflects small increases in the price of food and non-food items, as well as in the price of services.
The annual variation in consumer prices jumped to minus 0.5%, up from minus 0.7% in November, and remains far below the Central Bank’s target band of 1.5%-3.5%. The annual average variation in consumer prices edged up to minus 1.5%, up from minus 1.6% in November.
