Romania: Industry loses momentum in June
August 11, 2014
In June, industrial output rose 10.4% over the same month last year, which was below the 12.7% increase tallied in May. According to the National Institute of Statistics, the increase came as a result of a deceleration in production in the mining and quarrying sector as well as in electricity.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production fell 0.70%, which contrasted the revised 2.70% increase recorded in May (previously reported: +2.62% month-on-month). Conversely, annual average growth in industrial production rose from 8.9% in May to 9.3% in June.
