Romania: Industry decelerates in July
September 11, 2014
In July, industrial output rose 5.7% over the same month last year, which was well below the 10.4% increase tallied in June. According to the National Institute of Statistics, July’s increase came as a result of a rise in production in the mining and quarrying sector as well as in manufacturing.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production fell 0.16%, which followed the revised 0.77% decrease recorded in June (previously reported: -0.70% month-on-month). Annual average growth in industrial production fell from 9.3% in June to 8.8% in July.
