Romania: Growth in industrial production slows in September
November 11, 2016
Industrial output expanded 3.4% in September from the same month last year, down from August’s 5.3% expansion. According to the National Institute of Statistics, only the manufacturing component of the index grew—and at a slower pace. Mining and quarrying activity contracted, but at a slower rate, while output in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector contracted at a slightly steeper rate.
On a seasonally-adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production accelerated from August’s 0.9% expansion to a 1.0% increase in September. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production remained unchanged at 1.6%.
