September 29, 2015
The consumer confidence index rose from minus 17.3 points in August to minus 15.7 points in September, marking the highest value since May 2001. According to the Statistical Institute, the increase in consumer confidence reflected improvements in households’ savings and financial perspectives as well as households’ view on the country’s economic situation.
The economic climate indicator remained in optimistic territory, moderating from August’s 1.5 points to 1.4 points in September, which marked a three-month low.
