Portugal: Consumer confidence and economic climate deteriorate in October
October 29, 2015
The consumer confidence index fell from minus 15.7 points in September to minus 19.1 points in October, marking the lowest value since May. According to the Statistical Institute, the decrease in consumer confidence reflected deteriorations in unemployment perspectives as well as households’ perspectives on the country’s economic situation.
The economic climate indicator remained in optimistic territory, although deteriorating from September’s 1.4 points to 1.2 points in October, which marked a five-month low.
