Poland Retail November 2017

Poland: Retail sales jump in November

December 22, 2017

Retail sales rose 10.2% from the same month a year earlier in November, accelerating from October’s already strong 8.0% increase. October’s rise was primarily driven by higher sales of furniture, radio, TV and household appliances, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, orthopedic equipment and textiles, clothing and footwear.

November’s strong result once again contributed to an uptick in the annual trend, with average annual growth in retail sales increasing from 7.9% in October to 8.2% in November—marking the highest reading in over five years.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 3.8% in 2018, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2019, the panel sees private consumption expanding 3.5%.
