Poland Retail September 2017

Poland: Retail sales accelerate further in September

October 24, 2017

Retail sales rose 8.6% from the same month a year earlier in September, accelerating from August’s 7.6% increase. September’s rise was primarily driven by higher sales of textiles, clothing and footwear, and furniture, radio, TV and household appliances.

September’s acceleration once again contributed to an uptick in the annual trend, with average annual growth in retail sales increasing from 7.3% in August to 7.6% in September—marking the highest reading in nearly five years.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 3.8% in 2018, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2019, the panel sees private consumption expanding 3.5%.
