Poland: Inflation slows in March

In March, consumer prices rose 0.5% over the previous month, which was slightly up from the 0.4% increase observed in February. According to the Central Statistics Office (GUS), the rise was mainly influenced by higher food and transport prices. Due to the base effect of sharp price rises in March 2011, annual headline inflation decelerated from 4.3% in February to 3.9% in March, remaining above the Central Bank
