Poland: Inflation eases in August
Consumer prices dropped 0.10% from the previous month in August, following July’s 0.20% drop. August’s result largely reflected lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as for clothing and footwear.
Meanwhile, inflation came in at 2.9% in August, down from July’s 3.0%, thus moving closer to the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target band of 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Meanwhile, annual average inflation rose to 3.4% in August (July: 3.3%). Lastly, core inflation dropped to 4.0% in August from July’s 4.3%.
