Poland: Industrial production growth accelerates notably in April

In April, industrial production rose 6.0% over the same month last year, which was up from the 0.7% growth recorded in March. The acceleration reflected a pick-up in manufacturing growth.

On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 2.4% over the previous month in seasonally-adjusted terms, marking a rebound from the 0.6% fall recorded in March. Moreover, annual average growth in industrial production rose from 4.3% in March to 4.6% in April.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 5.1% in 2016, which is down 0.3 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects growth in industrial production to increase 4.9%.
