Poland: Industrial production contracts in October

November 21, 2016

In October, industrial production fell 1.3% over the same month last year, which notably contrasted the 3.2% expansion recorded in September. The downturn reflected a decrease in manufacturing output as well as mining and quarrying production.

Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production edged down from September’s 4.0% to 3.7% in October.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 3.8% in 2016, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects growth in industrial production to be 4.4%, which is unchanged from the previous month’s projection.
