Poland: Industrial production accelerates significantly in November

December 18, 2015

In November, industrial production expanded 7.8% over the same month last year, which was significantly above the 2.4% increase tallied in October and marked an eight-month high. November’s reading overshot the 5.5% rise the markets had expected. The acceleration reflected improvements in all categories but electricity, gas and steam, with manufacturing recording the most notable expansion.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased 0.7% in November, which was below October’s 0.8% rise. Annual average growth in industrial production jumped up from October’s 4.3% to 5.0% in November.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 5.4% in 2016, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects growth in industrial production to accelerate to 5.3%.
