Poland: Industrial output growth gains steam in November

December 20, 2021

Industrial output grew 15.2% in year-on-year terms in November, which was above October's 7.6% increase. November's figure marked the highest result since June. November's notable upturn was largely driven by a pickup in mining and quarrying, and manufacturing output.

On a monthly basis, factory output grew 6.5% in seasonally-adjusted terms in November, which was notably better than October’s 2.3% expansion and also marked the best result since June 2020. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at plus 14.9% in November, up from October's 14.1% reading.

FocusEconomics panelists expect industrial output to expand 6.1% in 2022, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2023, the panel expects growth in industrial output of 5.1%.
