Poland: Industrial output grows at fastest pace since May 2021 in January
Industrial production increased 19.2% year-on-year in January (December: +16.3% yoy). January’s result marked the best result since May 2021. Looking at the details of the release, mining and quarrying production returned to growth in January, and manufacturing output also gathered steam. Contrastingly, electricity, gas and utilities production slowed.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rebounded notably, rising 4.2% in January (December: -0.4% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 16.8% in January, up from December’s 15.3%.
