Poland: Polish business sentiment improves in February

According to the Central Statistical Office's Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS), the general business climate index increased from minus 5.1 points in January to minus 2.1 points in February. Thus, the index remained below the zero-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism for the fifth consecutive month, implying a worsening outlook for fixed investment going forward. In annual terms, business confidence is 4.2 points below the same period last year. In general, businesses were mostly pessimistic regarding the general economic situation as well as both foreign and domestic order books. On the other hand, businesses were most optimistic regarding the expected selling prices of their products.
