Poland Business Confidence November 2017

Poland: Business confidence stable in November

November 24, 2017

In November, the manufacturing sector business climate remained stable at October’s 4.6, according to the Business Tendency Survey released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS-BTS). Therefore, business confidence still remained healthily above the zero-point mark that separates optimism from pessimism in the manufacturing sector.

November’s reading was broadly due to an improvement in the assessment of the general economic situation offsetting a deterioration in sentiment towards the forecast economic situation. Particularly, those surveyed had a more optimistic assessment of both the current economic and financial situation. On the other hand, assessment of current domestic and foreign orders and production weakened but remained strongly positive. Moreover, perspectives on the outlook for the general economic situation, production, the financial situation and domestic and export orders also deteriorated, despite remaining broadly positive.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to grow 6.0% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. For 2019, the panel sees fixed investment expanding 4.1%.
