Poland: Business confidence reaches ten-month low in November

November 25, 2015

The manufacturing sector business climate index decreased from 3.0 points in October to 2.5 points in November, which represented a 10-month low, according to the Central Statistical Office’s Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS). Despite the fall, business confidence rests above the zero-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism.

November’s decrease reflected deteriorations in six of the nine sub-categories that comprise the index. In particular, the largest decreases were recorded in expected production, as well as anticipated domestic and foreign order books.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to expand 7.5% in 2015, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. For 2016, the panel sees fixed investment expanding 6.2%, which is down 0.3 percentage points from last month’s projection.
